Puffy Pumpkin Cookies

Since we’re on a pumpkin spice kick, I want to share my other new recipe with you all. Again, I designed this recipe for my fur daughters, but it’s human friendly (and tasty) as well. With only 6 ingredients, it’s super easy too! So let’s get baking!




Puffy Pumpkin Cookies




I love creating new recipes for my entire family. One of my goals is to mak
them healthy, taste good, and use very little ingredients so they are easy to make
This recipe is no exception. You only need 6 ingredients and I’m willing to bet
you have most of them, if not all of them in your house. Like the other recipe,
this one calls for pureed pumpkin. I usually have this on hand for baking, but
make sure it’s just 100% pumpkin. (It’s better that way!) I’m ready to get started,
so let’s go!


Here’s What You’ll Need:



  • ¾ cup Kind Granola (you can use any brand, but we are partial to Kind)
  • ¾ cup Pureed Pumpkin
  • ⅓ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Coconut or Olive Oil (This is amazing for skin and heart health too!
  • 1 ½ cups of Flour



Preheat your oven to 400°. Mix the first five ingredients well. Then slowly mix in flour.
Once you have it all mixed well, grease your cookie sheet. Drop your dough by rounded
teaspoons onto the pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool.

That’s all there is to it! Using teaspoon sized cookies, this recipe will yield about three dozen
tasty treats. Like I said, humans and fur babies will love them. But remember, because these
are all natural, there are no preservatives. Therefore you should store them in your fridge.
If you want to keep them more than a week, then freeze them. Just thaw when you’re ready to enjoy.

Let's Bake Fur Baby Style! Strawmelon Pet Grass Bites

    It was damp and rainy here in NEPA this weekend. (Actually it's even worse today!) So of course I used that time to bake some tasty treats for my fur babies. This new recipe was a hit, so join us as we bake fur baby style!


Strawmelon Pet Grass Bites

    I am very passionate about my family. One of the ways I show them my love is by baking them delectable treats. My fur babies are no exception. This weekend I created them a new recipe highlighting fresh summer strawberries, and watermelon (hence the Strawmelon name.) My girls, their fur aunt, and fur cousin went wild. I know your canine besties will too, so let's gather some ingredients and get cooking!

Side Note: 

    You don't HAVE to add pet grass to these cookies. However, it's super healthy for your fur babies, AND it keeps them from nibbling on outdoor grasses. In turn, that keeps them from vomiting in your home. So it's a win win! We get ours from Chewy.com. It's so easy to grow, and kids love trimming it and watching it sprout! 


What You Need:

    Remember, I'm an "eye baker." Measuring isn't really a thing for me as I eyeball all of my recipes. However, I am pretty good at knowing how much of something I put in, so rest assured, your pet bites will be perfect!
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries (tops off)
  • 2 slices of watermelon (cut off rind, and remove seeds)
  • 1 cup of Granola Mix (we happen to love this mix from Kind.)
  • 3 cups of flour (If you want to use less flour, then add more granola, or substitute oats.)
  • 1/4 of Pet Grass (cut into small pieces) 

Let's Get Baking!

    Preheat your oven to 400°. Grab your blender and mix up your strawberries and watermelon. (By the way, this makes an amazing sorbet for your human family. So you could always double it, and freeze half of it for them!)

See what I mean? This makes a gorgeous sorbet too!


    Pour the fruits into a large mixing bowl. Add in your granola mix and pet grass, and mix. Now, add in your flour. I do a cup at a time. As I said, if you want to use less flour, just replace with the same amount of either granola, or oats. (Granola will make them crunchier which is great for removing plaque too!) Mix well. On a greased cookie sheet, make teaspoon sized cookies. Bake from 12-15 minutes. That's it!

Look how pretty that batter is! All natural pink color :)


    Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. For longer shelf life, freeze them. This recipe makes 80 small cookies, so I freeze mine. I take some out each week, and keep them in the refrigerator.

Pork and Beet Pup Cookies

    Yes, you read that right, pork and beets. Not beans! We don't want to encourage our four legged family members to fart! ;) Using leftovers, and a few ingredients from my cupboard, I just whipped up a delectable batch of cookies for my pups.


Pork and Beet Pup Cookies

    At some point, "everypawdy" has left overs. If I don't give them to my girls for dinner, I use them in some sort of baked goods. I love creating one of a kind treats for my girls because they're healthier for them, and I know what's in them. If you're like me and want to give your fur children the best, then read on for our newest recipe. It's "supaw" easy and your canine companions will love them.

Here's What You Need

  • Pork, or even leftover ham will do. (I tend to go for pork because it has less salt content. (You're going to want to grind it up in your food processor, and will need 1 cup.)
  • Beets (I use canned. Again, I break them up in my food processor and when done, you will need 1/3 of a cup.)
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/3 cup of honey (my girls and I love wildflower honey.)
  • 1/3 cup of granola or oats
  • 1/3 cups of oil (I use Coconut oil because it's beneficial for their skin and coats.)

Let's Get Baking!

    Preheat your oven to 350°, and then prepare all of your ingredients. In a large bowl combine the ground pork, beets, flour, honey, oil, and granola (oats.) Mix well. You want it to stick together. If you feel it isn't sticking together enough, add in a bit more of the coconut oil. 

    Grease your cookie sheet, and then roll the dough in your hands. I make mine about the size of a nickel. Then I flatten them a bit on the tray. When you're done they should be between a quarter and fifty cent piece in size. Bake these bad boys for about fifteen minutes.



    Let them cool, and give your fur baby a taste. I promise you, they are going to love them! I freeze mine so they last longer. Since these cookies are all natural without preservatives, they can be kept in the fridge for about two weeks. To keep them longer, you will have to freeze them. I wouldn't recommend keeping them on the counter or in your cupboards as they can get moldy in a few days, due to the lack of preservatives.

Chill Out This Summer with Homemade Treats

    Up until the past two days, our summer has been pretty chilly. With this heat wave upon us, I have been filling my freezer with homemade goodies for the kids. When you need to chill out this summer, you can whip up some of these super easy, and fast homemade treats.

    My boy and his friends love our homemade popsicles. I'm always trying to mix it up, and give them something not only yummy, but somewhat healthy too. I make juice bars, fruit bars, sherbet pops, and pudding pops. 

     If you were born in the eighties chances are, you remember the creamy goodness of pudding pops. However, they aren't readily available in all grocery stores anymore. So how do we share them with our kids? Easy. We make them! And it's so easy, that your kids can even make them too! Better yet, all you really need are popsicle molds, and pudding.


Let's Make Some Pudding Pops

    I've been making these for some time now. I started out making them with instant pudding, but then when I was out, I used Snack Packs. They were so much better, so now that's all I use. Liam likes his in a "twist" like soft ice cream, so that's what I will be showing you today.

    Just grab your popsicle molds, and open up some Snack Packs. This mold took four of them. Two Vanilla and two Chocolate. All I did was take turns layering each flavor into the mold. I use a butter knife because it gets more into the mold, and less on the outside of it. 



    Once your molds look full, tap them on the counter. This ensures the pudding packs in, and helps rid the pops of air bubbles. Now if you need too, top of the mold with pudding. I fill mine just about to the top, so that they grab the sticks completely.

    Pop on all the lids, and place them in the freezer. Wait a few hours, and voila! Pudding pops!

So Many Ways to Keep Cool

    Another yummy popsicle to make is with fruit yogurt. My personal favorite is strawberry banana yogurt, with tiny chunks of fresh berries. To make ice cream or sherbet pops, just set it on the counter to soften a bit. Then fill your molds, and refreeze. 



    Fruit juice makes for yummy ice pops too. Liam happens to love cran grape pops, or berry punch. One of my favorite is made from just strawberries. I blend up fresh strawberries, and add a teaspoon of sugar. Then I fill my molds with that mixture. They are so tasty!

Tasty, Healthy and Easy Treats for Kids and Pets This Easter

    The final countdown to Easter is on! (Is it just me, or do you hear Europe singing that to you?) Anyway! The other day I was rummaging through my cupboards for what I could make my fur girls for Easter, when I stumbled upon the simplest idea! These tasty treats are not only easy to make but they're healthy, and safe for your kids, and your fur kids!

Tasty, Healthy and Easy Treats for Kids and Pets This Easter

    Homemade yogurt bites! Simple, yet yummy! And your kids won't even realize they're good for them! You can make them in fun shapes with candy molds. If you don't have molds, or don't have time, you can make them as drops on a cookie sheet! 



    Not only will your children love them, but pets will gobble them up too! If you have both dogs and cats, then you'll be happy to know that these treats are safe for all of them. In moderation of course! (Especially if you use flavored fruit yogurt.) So let's make some!

What Do I Need?

    First and foremost, you need yogurt. Any flavor, any brand will do. I used strawberry banana, but I also make these by mixing plain yogurt with peanut butter. (We call it pup cream, and its what we treat our fur girls with on hot summer days.) 

One part plain yogurt, and one part peanut butter, makes these creamy snacks!


    Secondly you will either need candy molds, or a cookie sheet and parchment paper. If you're using candy molds, just grease them with a bit of olive or coconut oil. Then spoon in your yogurt, and put them in the freezer. Once frozen, pop them out of the molds, and place in a container, or some Easter treat bags, and put them back in the freezer until they're ready to be eaten.



    If you're using the cookie sheet method, first and foremost, MAKE SURE THE SHEET FITS IN YOUR FREEZER! Then line it with parchment paper. You can get as fancy as you'd like with these ones. If you want to be fancy, load your cake decorator with yogurt, and squeeze out your bites on the parchment paper. If you're pressed for time, or don't have a cake bag, no worries, just grab a sandwich bag. Fill it with yogurt, and snip off one corner. Pipe the yogurt onto the sheet, and place in the freezer. Voila, easy Easter treats that your entire family (fur or otherwise) will adore!
