Keep Your Seats Clean and Dry in All Seasons

We have two fur daughters (and one furry granddaughter.) Our youngest daughter just happens to be the biggest of all, and the one that loves water and mud. To say our Jeep seats look terrible is an understatement. I personally hate cleaning them, so I need a way to keep them clean and dry in all seasons. Chewy.com was there to help!

Keep Your Seats Clean and Dry in All Seasons

I do all of our pet shopping at Chewy.com. They have everything we need in one place, and their prices and customer service can't be beat. So when I decided I was tired of detailing our Jeep every week, I went to Chewy.com. I discovered the car seat covers from Frisco, and knew they were for us.

First of all, they're made of heavy duty Oxford Polyester. Which means they will stand up to my German Shepherd, as well as the mud, dirt, and water she will get on them. This material also makes them resistant to water, spills, and color bleeding, so my Jeep seats are safe from everything Bayleigh brings their way. Since they are easy to wipe clean, and can be machine washed, I can easily keep them clean.

I just cleaned my seats last week.... I had to clean them again before I put on my Frisco Car Seat Cover

Seat Cover or Hammock

Frisco has these seat covers in a traditional Bench Seat Cover, or a Hammock Cover. I chose the bench style since I also have Liam that sits in the back with the dogs. This way my son and my fur daughters can't ruin my back car seat. The cover is kid and dog proof! ;)

The Frisco Hammock Seat Cover will not only protect your back seat, but it also keeps dirt, debris, water, mud and more from your floors. Oh, and it protects the back of your front seats as well.

Accommodates Human Seat Belts and Pet Restraints

I love our Frisco Car Seat Cover. It was super easy to install, which means it will be easy to remove and clean, and then put back in the Jeep. You can also access your seat belts with the cover in place. So whether you have a human sitting in the back with your fur baby, or you use a pet restraint for car safety, you can access the buckles so your babies are safe!

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Yes, my dogs are basic too. They adore pumpkin spice anything, much like everyone else. (Except me.) So when I saw that Greenies has limited edition bones in that flavor, I was all over it.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Greenies bones really are the best way to rid your baby of horrendous dog breath. We never let our girls run out of them. These dental treats help to work off stinky plaque and tartar. They keep both at bay, while also making your dog's smile healthy, and smelling fresh too! This is huge for us, because Josie will NOT let me brush her teeth. So to say her breath gets fusty is an understatement.

However, Bayleigh loves to have her teeth brushed. She waits by the sink every night at bedtime to get her chompers cleaned. I still give her Greenies though because they get back to the teeth I can't always reach. Besides that, I can't give her sissy a treat, and not her!

Since Fall is right around the corner, Greenies has released their Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Dental Dog Treats. They are made using REAL pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavoring. (You can even smell it when you open them.) My girls go bonkers for them, and we know your fur babes will too!

Why Greenies?

Another of the many reasons we love Greenies is because they are good for our girls. Their bones are formulated with all natural ingredients. The texture helps scrape the nasty stuff from your dogs teeth, and they just think they're eating a yummy bone! Even Vets recommend Greenies for your fur babies. They're approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council, and even made right here in the good old United States of America. (Pssst, they make cat treats too, which our little Clara loves as well!)

So whether or not your fur child lets you brush their teeth, Greenies are the perfect treat. You will feel wonderful knowing that you're giving them something that's all natural and good for them. They will be ecstatic because they're getting a super yummy treat. It's a win win!

Protect Your Hands While Working

Years ago I worked at Procter & Gamble making baby diapers. One of the first things they made us all get, were a pair of mechanics gloves. We weren't allowed to handle any tools without them. It was awkward at first, but once I got used to them, I never went without them at work or at home, when using tools. To this day, I still use gloves to get jobs done!

Protect Your Hands While Working

We use our hands a lot. Which makes them prone to cuts, scrapes, bruises and more. I can't seem to help my son tighten his bike chain without gouging up my knuckles. However, that doesn't have to be the case. All you need are a good pair of mechanics gloves. I personally love StrongSuit Mechanics Gloves. First of all, they're comfortable and not at all bulky, so they feel like a second skin. Which is perfect, since they actually feature Second Skin Technology. This tech makes the gloves fit perfectly so they aren't in your way while you're trying to get stuff done.

Snags Make Me Gag

I have a severe sensory aversion to snags. Just thinking of them gives me goosebumps. When I am unfortunate enough to snag clothing onto something it literally makes me gag. I don't have to worry about that with my StrongSuit Mechanics Gloves. The stretchable webbing keeps them comfy, as well as from snagging on wood or metal.

Not Just for Work

Take it from me, if you have to repairs to make in your home or on your car, you want to protect your hands. StrongSuit Mechanics Gloves will do just that. However, they're not just good for working or doing repairs in the home. These gloves are perfect for riding bikes or motorcycles. They're also perfect as tactical gloves for the military and more. My husband wears his when he goes hunting. He reports that they keep his hands warm, and help him grip his rifle better too!

Relieve Cold and Flu Symptoms with Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Back to school season generally means back to germ season. With the added exposure to new germs, and the weather change, it's inevitable that our loved ones will get sick. But what if I told you that you don't have to reach for an over the counter medication to help relieve your loved ones symptoms? You can use Eucalyptus Essential Oil.

Relieve Cold and Flu Symptoms with Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Before you reach for an over the counter medication to relieve cold and flu symptoms, look to something more natural. Try Gya Labs Eucalyptus Essential Oil. This all natural oil works amazing to help clear stuffy noses, and soothe barking coughs. It's even helpful for treating asthma. Better yet, it's good for you.

Simply grab a glass roller bottle, add a few drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and dilute it with a carrier oil. This can be olive oil, coconut, avocado, sweet almond and more. Give it a good shake, and it's ready for use.

For sinus congestion, I apply it under our noses, across our foreheads, and behind our ears. For coughs, I roll it onto our chests, on their backs between their shoulders, and then on the soles of the feet. I kid you not, there's nothing better to treat cold or flu symptoms.

Use it to Relieve Pain

Eucalyptus oil is also effective in relieving pain. You can grab your roller bottle, and roll it right onto the areas causing you pain. Or, if you're more adventurous, you can create a balm and add the oil (as well as a few others,) to that. Then rub it into your sore areas. I happen to love this recipe.

These are just a few of the uses for this amazing essential oil. However, make sure when you're getting your oil, you're purchasing therapeutic grade. Which is why I trust Gya Labs.

Add Some Halloween Flair to your Home

You may not want to think about it, but Halloween will be here before we know it. I'm sad summer is almost over, but I do love Halloween. If you're looking to add some holiday flair to your home, then this is for you.

Add Some Halloween Flair to your Home

I love to decorate for holidays. Halloween and Christmas happen to be my favorite so I go all out. I just got this amazing wreath from Valery Madelyn. It's equal parts spooky, chic, and Halloween happiness! All of the ornaments are affixed to a sturdy wooden cane wreath, so this wreath will last for many Happy Halloween! Maybe best of all, it's made from shatterproof ornaments. This is great if you have kids or fur babies.

The ornaments are gorgeous. They're black, orange, purple, and lime green. Mine is the "Naughty" wreath and it's adorned with bats, pumpkins, and skulls with top hats. Their "Spooky" version is orange, black, green and purple as well. But that one is decorated with spiders and webs, masks and sugar skulls.

Eight Light Effects and Timer

This Valery Madelyn wreath is decorated with twenty LED lights. But these aren't just any lights. They have a timer so you don't have to worry about turning it on and off every evening. (It will be on for six hours a night.) You can make the lights brighter or dim them down. (This would especially be useful if you're displaying your wreath indoors. The lights also have eight different functions to choose from. You can set them to chase one another, twinkle and flash, to light up in a wave, slowly fade, and so much more. I plan on switching mine up every day, so it looks different each night. With the handy remote I will be able to do just that.

Dress up your door, wall, or mantel with this awesome Halloween wreath from Valery Madelyn. Trust me, you're going to love it too! I was outside taking pictures of mine, and already two of my neighbors came over to see where I got it.

Light Up the Night with the Nulipam Lantern

As our days gradually get shorter, we're going to need some extra light. Whether you're camping, walking the dog, or just enjoying the night air, you can light up the night with the Nulipam Lantern. It even works are a flashlight too!

Light Up the Night with the Nulipam Lantern

This rechargeable torch from Nulipam puts the rest to shame. The flashlight beam is so bright, it could be used for spotlighting. The beam carries super far and will definitely light up the night. Since it's also a lantern, you can use it for 360° or 180° lighting with just the push of a button. Since the lights are LED, it doesn't get hot. This beats old fashioned propane lanterns, especially if you have kids, or need light in your tent. The Nulipam lantern is also waterproof. Which makes it perfect for boating, rafting, or kayaking excursions!

Rechargeable and Power Bank!

The Nulipam Lantern is rechargeable, and I love how the USB charging cord is not only attached to the lantern, but can be clipped to it for easy storage. Even better yet, you can charge items from your lantern. It's also a 2600 mAh power bank! (There are blue lights on the bottom to indicate the charge it has, such as 25, 50, 75 and 100%.)

Camping and Backpacking Must Have

Fall doesn't mean the end of camping and backpacking season. There are still plenty of warm days and nights left to enjoy the great outdoors. I actually have an amazing product that is the perfect addition to any trip. The Nulipam Wood Stove Set. Let's check it out!

Camping and Backpacking Must Have

Whether you're backpacking or headed out on a camping trip, you want to pack lightly. However, you still need to cook meals. That's where the Nulipam Wood Stove Set comes in. First of all, it's compact and stores in itself so it takes up very little space. It's lightweight too so it won't weigh you down.

This set isn't just a wood stove. It's an entire cookware set as well. It comes with a one liter pot, and a half liter pot. Don't let their size fool you. These pots are perfect for making a meal for up to two people at one time. The pots are non stick and easy to clean. They have handles that fold out to make getting them off of the wood stove easier.

Nulipam also knows that you need to eat what you cook. So in this set they added three food grade polypropylene plastic bowls, as well as a plastic soup spoon, a stainless steel spoon, fork and knife. All of which fold down to take up less room. There's even a wooden spoon for cooking and sponge to wash your pots and utensils. This set really is all in one!

Stainless Steel Stove

The wood stove comes in four parts. It's made of sturdy stainless steel and is easy to set up. Though small in size, you can easily use sticks, small branches, leaves and more to stoke up a nice, hot fire. Once you get a good fire going, you can start cooking.

The Nulipam set even comes with a carabiner to hook your set to your backpack.

My sister is an avid outdoors woman and survivalist, so I gifted the Nulipam Wood Stove kit to her. She loves it! It's easy to assemble, and she loves how everything fits into itself, and into the included carrying bags. She states that it takes up very little room in her backpack. My sister also noted that the pots are large enough to cook fish, a couple squirrels, or a small rabbit, quail, or grouse.

Make it with Mica

Before we know it, winter will be bearing down upon us. As much as I hate to think of that, I know it's coming. So I've already started thinking of crafts to keep Liam and I busy. Today we're going to talk about things we can make with Mica pigmented powder.

Make it with Mica

If you're not familiar with Mica pigmented powder, you may be using it and not even realizing it. If you wear eyeshadow or lip gloss, it's colored with mica. Do you burn colored candles or wax tarts? Again, many people use mica to color them. It's even used in soaps. So let's talk about ways we can use it. But first, you may want to grab yourself some Mica. Liam and I got this awesome set from Evol Concept. It comes with twenty colors of pigmented powders.

Slime!

Pigmented Mica Powder looks amazing in clear slime. It colors it and makes it shimmery. It's seriously the prettiest slime ever! So I want to give you our Crystal Clear Slime Recipe. All you do is make the slime, then put your slime on the table. Sprinkle a bit of mica on the slime, and knead it in. That's it. So here's the recipe:

Crystal Clear Slime

  • 1/2 cup of Elmer's Clear Glue
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Borax Powder
  • 1/2 cup warm water
Put your glue in a bowl. In a separate cup, mix warm water and Borax powder until dissolved. Add to glue and mix well. Voila. Crystal Clear slime. Now roll the slime onto your table, and color with your Mica powder.

More with Mica

Another fun craft is making melt and pour soap. It's so much nicer than store bought soaps, and super easy. You can create fun color by using your Mica powders in it. If you enjoy doing nails, you can use your mica for that too.

You can easily create eyeshadows and even lip gloss with mica powder. I want to share my favorite lip gloss recipe with you. It makes amazing Christmas gifts and kids can help too!

Lip Gloss

  • 3 tbsp shea butter
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp grated beeswax
  • 2 drops of essential oil (optional)
  • mica pigment powder
In the microwave, melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter. (Or you can use a double boiler.) Once it's all melted, mix well, then add essential oil if you choose to. Next add in your mica. Mix well and pour into little lip gloss pots. That's it.

If you want an easier version, grab some Vaseline. Melt it in the microwave, add a drop or two of essential oil and mix well. Then add your mica, and pour into pots. Voila! Lip gloss.

Add Some Solar Flair to Your Garden

Just because summer is coming to an end, doesn't mean your flower garden has to. And while you're adding some fall flowers, why not add some solar flair too?! Light up your autumn evenings with this adorable decorative light from Hannah's Cottage.

Add Some Solar Flair to Your Garden

Cooler weather will be bearing down upon us soon. Our days will get shorter, but that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy our flower gardens. Annuals such as mums, dianthus (my personal favorite,) Aster, Sweet Alyssum (another of my favorite flowers,) and Pansies are wonderful flowers that bloom even in cooler weather.

While you're enjoying these gorgeous blooms, you can also add some garden decorations. This decorative bird stake from Hannah's Cottage features a colorful bird. It will add whimsy to your garden. The bird also features a solar light in it's belly, so you can take delight in it even at night.

Beautiful Crackled Bulb and Sturdy Design

The light in the bird's belly is a gorgeous blue, crackled bulb. It looks so pretty during the day, and even more gorgeous at night. The bird and the stake are made from sturdy iron, so you know they'll hold up to being outside.

Light Up the Night

On the stake is a solar panel. It takes about six hours of sunlight to fully charge the light. Then you can enjoy about eight hours of whimsical light from your bird. Depending on the strength of the sun that is. (Of course on gloomy days it may not charge as much, but that's to be expected with solar power.)
