Camping and Backpacking Must Have

Fall doesn't mean the end of camping and backpacking season. There are still plenty of warm days and nights left to enjoy the great outdoors. I actually have an amazing product that is the perfect addition to any trip. The Nulipam Wood Stove Set. Let's check it out!

Camping and Backpacking Must Have

Whether you're backpacking or headed out on a camping trip, you want to pack lightly. However, you still need to cook meals. That's where the Nulipam Wood Stove Set comes in. First of all, it's compact and stores in itself so it takes up very little space. It's lightweight too so it won't weigh you down.

This set isn't just a wood stove. It's an entire cookware set as well. It comes with a one liter pot, and a half liter pot. Don't let their size fool you. These pots are perfect for making a meal for up to two people at one time. The pots are non stick and easy to clean. They have handles that fold out to make getting them off of the wood stove easier.

Nulipam also knows that you need to eat what you cook. So in this set they added three food grade polypropylene plastic bowls, as well as a plastic soup spoon, a stainless steel spoon, fork and knife. All of which fold down to take up less room. There's even a wooden spoon for cooking and sponge to wash your pots and utensils. This set really is all in one!

Stainless Steel Stove

The wood stove comes in four parts. It's made of sturdy stainless steel and is easy to set up. Though small in size, you can easily use sticks, small branches, leaves and more to stoke up a nice, hot fire. Once you get a good fire going, you can start cooking.

The Nulipam set even comes with a carabiner to hook your set to your backpack.

My sister is an avid outdoors woman and survivalist, so I gifted the Nulipam Wood Stove kit to her. She loves it! It's easy to assemble, and she loves how everything fits into itself, and into the included carrying bags. She states that it takes up very little room in her backpack. My sister also noted that the pots are large enough to cook fish, a couple squirrels, or a small rabbit, quail, or grouse.

Multi Purpose Shears Make Food Prep a Breeze

I love to cook and bake, therefore I love getting new kitchen gadgets. I just got an awesome pair of Multi Purpose Kitchen Shears from WEREACH. I love them and you will too!

Multi Purpose Shears Make Food Prep a Breeze

I've had a few pair of kitchen scissors, and never really cared for any of them. That is until I got these ones from WEREACH. These bad boys are the perfect kitchen gadget because they serve many purposes. The Multi Purpose Kitchen Shears are actually five tools in one. You can cut veggies and herbs, meat, scale fish, crack nuts, and open a nice cold bottle of your favorite beer. They even come with a handy sheath to keep the blades covered when not is use.

When I got the scissors my husband opened them right away. I think he was also tired of my other crappy shears. The first thing he said was, "Wow hun, these are heavy duty!" And they really are. These Multi Purpose Kitchen Shears are sturdy and they're going to last a long time.

Be a Kitchen Wizard

With these Multi Purpose Kitchen Shears you can be a kitchen wizard. You can spatchcock your Thanksgiving turkey in just a matter of minutes with ease when using these shears. Your bird will not only cook faster, but more evenly using this method.

Having a cookout? Keep your shears handy because you can use them to open your guests beer bottles. If someone has a hard time popping can tabs, you can use the bottle opener for that too.

Preparing fish you just caught? No worries, because using the outer serrated edge of these shears will scale your catch in minutes. You can then use the shears to cut open the abdomen and remove the viscera.

Slap Together Summer Meal

Ugh! I don't know about you, but when it's hot, I don't feel like cooking. But for some odd reason, my family insists on it. ;) Tonight I made an amazing slap together meal that was easy, and I thought I'd share it with you all.

Slap Together Summer Meal

If you're familiar with my recipes, you know I don't always measure. I cook by eye. So I will do my best to give you round about measurements of the ingredients that I used. If you're familiar with cooking you'll be fine because chances are, you do the same thing too. This meal only takes a few ingredients, and with different ways to make it, it could only take two. It's really all in how you want it. Let's get started.

What You Need

  • Ground beef - about a pound or two (I used ground Angus, and if you do as well, you will need some water later in the recipe.)
  • Taters! I used 6 medium sized red potatoes
  • Cheese (optional) I used extra sharp, and regular sharp cheddar
  • Milk (again, optional)
  • about 1 tbsp salted butter (optional)
  • about 1 tbsp onion (optional as well)

Prep and Cook

Dice up about a tablespoon of onion. (I have to do mine extra small because if my hubby knows it's in there, he won't eat. Oddly enough, he loved this meal. All because he didn't know there was onion pieces in there!) In a large skillet or pot, start to brown your burger. While that is cooking, thinly slice those taters! I use a mandolin for this, and though it makes slicing a breeze, watch those digits! My daddy almost took a fingertip off on his!

Once your taters are sliced, rinse them well, and set them aside in a bowl of cool water. Check on your burger, and break it up nicely. Once it's done cooking, drain your potatoes, and toss them in. Now, if you used Angus like me, you won't have a lot of drippings to cook those potatoes. So add in some water. I think I added about a cup. Now cover your pot, turn heat to medium, and let simmer.

Cheese Please!

I stirred mine about every five to seven minutes. Once your potatoes are soft, or start to break you they're done. If there is a lot of liquid left in your pot, you can drain it off now. Or leave it in there for more flavor. Now it's time for cheese! (If you don't want cheese, that's fine too. You're one skillet meal is ready to devour.)

There are two ways to do this. First, you can just sprinkle a bunch of shredded cheese over the meat and potatoes. Cover it and let that melt. Or, if you want more cheesy goodness, grab a small saucepan.

Over medium heat melt a tablespoon of salted butter, and add in about a half of a cup of milk. Once that starts to bubble, pour in about two cups of shredded cheese. Whisk it well, and once melted, pour it over your meat and potatoes. Give it a good stir. Then sprinkle on MORE cheese (yes please,) and cover with the lid to finish melting.

That's it. That's all there is to this easy slap together meal. If you want veggies, then maybe toss in some steamed corn. It would be super yummy with those potatoes, meat, and cheeses. Plus, you would have an extra food group in your dinner. ;)

All Natural Dinner and Dessert Doggie Style

Yes, I cook for my fur girls. They have dry kibble available at all times, but I supplement that with healthy meals from the kitchen. Today I want to share you with a quick and easy omelet with a healthy dessert.

All Natural Dinner and Dessert Doggie Style

I know that cooking every day for your family, let alone your pets may not be feasible. Heck, I don't cook for them every day. I try to, but sometimes life gets in the way. However, this recipe is simple and your dogs, and even the cat will love it!

First off you're going to need a couple of things. The first of which is the Pet Greens Medley from Chewy. We've talked about this before. For under three bucks you can grow your very own pet greens for your dogs and cats. It's super easy, and it grows so well!

You're also going to need the dessert! I chose the Wellness CORE Grain Free Marrow Roasts. These treats are made from all natural ingredients. They're grain, wheat, corn, soy and gluten free. Made from real beef without by products, they're packed full of calcium, iron, zinc, and Vitamin A. Best of all, your fur babies will love them!

Let's Get Cooking!

For this omelet I used four eggs. (Fresh farm eggs are wonderful, but store bought works too! I had to use store bought because my sister delivers my eggs on Friday evenings.) I trimmed back my pet greens (which usually needs done every few days,) and then cut them up into smaller pieces.

Mix your eggs, add a quarter of a cup of milk, and whisk well. Then add your greens and whisk again. Pour the mixture into a heated frying pan, and cook as you normally would. When mine was done, I added just a bit of shredded sharp cheese for flavor, and a calcium boost. Voila, instant doggie style omelet. By the way, the cat enjoyed a little bit of it too!

Plate your omelet, and let it cool before serving. Then sit back and watch as your fur baby devours it. This simple meal is super healthy for them. It adds easily digestible protein to their diet, as well as riboflavin and selenium. Cooking for your pets is a rewarding experience for everyone involved. You could even get your kids to help and teach them how to cook, as well as valuable math skills such as measuring and fractions!

Culinary Couture for the DIY Foodie

I love to cook and bake. That means having quality kitchen utensils. I recently discovered Culinary Couture, and I'm in love!

Culinary Couture for the DIY Foodie

If you have a DIY foodie in your life, then you have to check out Culinary Couture. They have a wide selection of products to make your cooking experience more enjoyable. From measuring cups and spoons, to pizza stones, barbecue tools, and so much more. It's one stop shopping for your kitchen!

Sturdy, Well Made Tongs

Well made and sturdy tongs are a must. Those flimsy ones don't pick up enough food. Also, you want tongs with silicone on them to protect your pots and pans. I just got Culinary Couture's Set of Three Light Blue Kitchen Tongs. I will NEVER use any other tong again!

They're heavy duty, and very well made. Not only are the ends silicone to protect your pans, but there's also a silicone grip on the handles as well. The end features a silicone covered ring to hang them when not in use. To open the tongs, simply pull the ring outward. To close, push it inward. Easy peasy! The bonus is that they look great too!

Culinary Couture's Kitchen Tongs are made from Stainless Steel. The top quality silicone will withstand heat up to 480 degrees Fahrenheit! That's far superior than any other tong I have used. Which means I can even use them when I deep fry foods. (Pączki I'm looking at you!)

Three Sizes for All Needs

The set of three tongs comes with one small which is seven inches. The medium is nine inches long, and the large is twelve inches long. So whether you're cooking in the kitchen, or outside on the grill, you have a set of tongs for every need.

Fourteen Colors

I chose Culinary Couture's Light Blue Set of Three Kitchen Tongs. However, with fourteen colors to choose from, you're sure to find the color you need for your kitchen. They have traditional black, grey, and brown. But they also have pink, green, purple, and more.

I adore my Culinary Couture tongs, and I know you will too. So head to their website, and grab yourself some. Hey, with Mother's Day and Father's Day right around the corner, they would make an amazing gift too!
